This area was the city’s original “Little Italy”, and you are two blocks from the waterfront and Casco Bay ferry terminal. The historical and culinary pleasures of Munjoy Hill and the Eastern Prom green space with walking and biking trails are a half dozen blocks in the opposite direction.
This unique location will allow you to experience why Forbes Magazine recognized Portland as one of the most livable small cities in America. Portland’s cultural offerings include the downtown galleries of the Arts District, First Friday art walk celebrations, the Portland Museum of Art, a dynamic live music scene, well preserved architecture, eclectic watering holes, fresh air farmer’s market and local basketball, hockey and baseball teams.
The creative, seasonal “real food” dining culture here is one of the best on the East Coast - as frequently noted by The New York Times. When you step out of your private and secure second floor flat, within a two block radius you will find Coffee by Design, Amato’s sandwich/pizza shop, Shipyard Brewing Company, sumptuous Two Fat Cats bakery, Miccuci’s Italian grocer, Ribolitta, Duck Fat, the East Ender, the Pepperclub, Hugo’s, and the Benkay Sushi Bar. The Portland fish piers provide a steady stream of lobster, scallops and other seafood for your plate, award winning chefs abound, and your downtown location insures that no designated driver is required.
Portland is located approximately 100 miles (160 km) from Boston, and is a historic & amiable coastal seaport. Transportation links are provided by Amtrack from Boston and the international airport, both with easy access to the city. If you are visiting the city without a vehicle, taxi fare from the airport or Amtrack terminal to the condo is approximately $15.00. The Casco Bay ferry line connects you with the numerous islands in the harbor area. Area attractions within twenty minute include Portland Headlight, Fort Williams, beautiful salt water beaches, several golf courses and the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport.
